Chennai-based Rajesh Mirajker of Mirajker Design, has been chosen as the Worldwide Winner in the Professional Manufacturing category at the iDesign Awards, instituted by Autodesk Inc. USA.

The purpose of this Award Program is to showcase cutting-edge Computer Aided Design created using Autodesk software. The iDesign Awards will honor those select few from 24 Countries around the Globe who set out to solve a design challenge, and, in the process, achieved a perfect balance of form and function. Mirajker’s winning Product Design entry is a uniquely styled and feature packed domestic water motor pump called "Flowduct" designed for a Coimbatore based Manufacturer. Mirajker is the first Indian to receive this honour.

As part of the Award Program, Mirajker was invited by Autodesk to attend a Conference in the US, where he received the coveted Trophy at the annual meeting of the Autodesk Users Group International held at Las Vegas on the 3rd of December, 2002. The award also includes the latest CAD Software from Autodesk, a Digital Camera and other computer accessories from the sponsors of the Award Program.

Autodesk Inc. based in San Rafael, California, is the largest CAD Software Producer, and their flagship software Autocad is a standard drafting tool used by the Engineering and Architecture Industries worldwide. Autodesk also produces high-end three dimensional parametric software for both the Engineering, Architecture and Graphics Animation Industries. One version of this software was used by Mirajker Design to create the aforesaid design entirely on computers from concept through to prototype.
