Indian product designers have still not made much of an impact abroad. But that could be changing. An excerpt from an article on Indian Design.

Mirajker's first major award was the Grand Prize and Award of Excellence, International Car Design Competition 1991, Japan, for a micro-car concept. Last year, he won the International iDesign Award 2002 for a domestic water pump called Flowduct. The award, instituted by Autodesk Inc., is given to designers who create designs using Autodesk software. "The awards get you publicity. It helps start a dialogue," says Mirajker.
